Monday, September 17, 2007 | 0 comments
Reuters (London) is reporting that Spanish-owned mobile phone operator O2 has secured the deal to sell iPhone in Britain (UK) and that O2 has in fact agreed to give Apple 40 percent of the revenues generated from customers using the iPhone.

It is expected that Apple will hold a London news conference on Tuesday where it is widely rumored to unveil its plans for the iPhone launch in the UK.

Apple is also rumored to announce a deal with Germany's Deutsche Telekom this week and an announcement handing the French distribution deal to Orange is also expected shortly.

"The Guardian newspaper said on Monday that O2 had agreed a margin on the retail price but would return to Apple as much as 40 percent of any revenues it makes from customers' use of the device -- far exceeding most industry expectations.", Reuters reports.

It is also rumored that Carphone Warehouse had secured the right to be the sole independent retailer of the device on behalf of O2.

Come tuesday and all the rumors and speculations will come to an end hopefully in the Apple news conference on tuesday in London. Hopefully all you iPhone fans in europe will get some good news regarding the arrival of the iPhone in Europe.
